Big House tool bag

I have been using the Duluth Trading "Big House" tool
bag for a little over a year. Photos are attached.

My Pocket PC ETD rides in my pants or jacket pocket,
not the bag, but you could fit a SAT in this bag if
you give up some other junk. (I carry too much junk.)

The "Tool Side" has my tuning hammer, screw drivers,
and mutes handy in vertical pouches. Commonly used
tools have actual handles, and can be grabbed with one
hand and no digging. A mesh pouch contains
voicing/hammer shaping tools. Two small tool rolls
contain lesser-used regulating tools and universal
handle. The built-in net pouch on the top flap has
key bushing cloth, sand paper strips, baggies of
punchings, earplugs, fallboard lock keys, and other
small stuff.

The "Liquid Side" has a business card box containing
little glue and lube bottles. Larger bottles just sit
in the bottom. Pouches and elastic loops hold finish
touch-up pens, stencil brush (for cleaning), and a
small electric drill/driver. I pile microfiber
cleaning rags on top of the bottles, and toss a misc.
parts bottle (former cheese jar) on top. My folders
and clipboard for paperwork slide down the side next
to the liquids. A pocket on the outside flap holds
the Piano Atlas and various PTG pamphlets.

This bag replaced two smaller boxes: A tool case and
a small lunch cooler with the liquids. Now I have a
spare hand.

It is heavy. My bathroom scale says 40 lbs.

I use a small folding luggage cart if I need to walk
long distances through schools (and I can load up
additional "kit" boxes for D/C maintenance, key
repair, shop vac, etc).

I often think about creating a second, smaller,
minimalist kit for situations where I know what to
expect, and only need tuning hammer, mutes, and
8-in-one screwdriver.

One improvement in the works: I asked a friend with a
metal bending brake to make a divided tray to fit the
liquid side. I want to have the bottles on top for
easy access, and store the rags and misc. parts below
the tray. Digging to the bottom for one little hypo
bottle of CLP takes longer than it should.

Is it the perfect case? No. But it works for me.
