Centering Grand Jacks in the Window

Okay, now I'm really confused by all the different verbal descriptions. How
about a picture?

Correct - but be sure that the base of the jack body is free of the support
device - support only one side of the wippen lever.

 

"Tap gently with a small hammer while supporting the side" - of the wippen
base lever- not the jack at all - "TO WHICH the jack must go to be
centered."

 

As stated, it only takes a gentle tap.

Tap gently with a small hammer while supporting the side TO WHICH the jack
must go to be centered.
