Attached is a photo of the tool I made about 44 years ago to center the jacks without removing the repetitions. Small piece of aluminum on top and tapered hammer felt on the bottom. "Tap gently with a small hammer while supporting the side" - of the wippen base lever- not the jack at all - "TO WHICH the jack must go to be centered." As stated, it only takes a gentle tap.
