If you bought this piano for your own to rebuild, you can probably make a little money on it. Depending on when it was made, I would guess that you can probably get about $5000 for it. If you price it much over that, you'll be competing with new Asian grand pianos. If it's worth it to you to do that much work for $5000, less the cost of parts, etc, go for it. If not, sell it to one of the wholesalers.

We have acquired a Julius Bauer 5'5" grand in need of restringing, including block,?full action work, keybushings and keytops and refinishing. My limited research shows the value of a rebuilt, refinished Bauer to be quite a differing spread. I found a 4'10" for $13,000 in Tennesee and a 5'5" "with new strings" for $2700 in New York.

I decided I would check with the real experts, any thoughts?
