I've often thought that a great addition to a new piano would be a key-stroke counter, just like on a photocopy machine. I used to have a service contract with a copier company. They would ring once per month for the copy-count number, and charge per page. Music teachers would also love it! swj ----- Original Message ----- From: "Wally Scherer" <afinetune at yahoo.com> To: <pianotech at ptg.org> Sent: Saturday, April 12, 2008 8:20 AM Subject: HOURS - for CAUTs, etc. > This question is for College and University > Technicians, or any other technician who services > "heavy use" pianos. > > Certain types of machines and equipment in some > industries require particular maintenance operations > every so many HOURS of use. > > I'm wondering if anyone has ever figured out an > average number of HOURS of playing between recommended > tunings for pianos.
