A number of the mental models that allowed us to be semi-functional with high compression boards aren't appropriate to RC&S work, like the pre-loading with wedges thing for setting bearing. Another thing you'll find is that the RC&S board isn't critically sensitive to downbearing loads like CC. They don't seem to mind much either way tonally whether they're carrying 1/3°, or 1.5°. So if you have a rib set that truly qualifies as RC&S, you have a built in forgiveness factor to some , ugh, degree. Ron N
