[pianotech] Refinishing ebony sharps

This is not an answer for sharps that really need refinishing, but for keys that aren't really bad, perhaps with just some finish missing near the top front of the sharp, I find that a black Magic Marker will do a quick and inexpensive job. Just color the sharp with the pen and perhaps apply several coats to the bad area. After it has thoroughly dried, buff the finish to a satin gloss with a soft cloth. It doesn't last forever, but you can show the customer how to reapply the color when it wears off in the future.
