Yes! Thick enough. :-) It sounds to me like polyester noise. The bottom board flexes with the pedal and all the little polyesters rub against each other.

Subject: [pianotech] creaking damper pedal

Hi all.

Actually, it's not the pedal, but the structure itself.

The culprit is a Yamaha P121. The 'noise' happens only when
the kick panel is in place.

I'm hoping, among the vastness that is pianotech, an answer
to this perplexing problem exists for this client.

Did I lay it on thick enough?!?

Thanks,

-Phil Bondi(Fl)
