I recently replaced a fairly new set of bushings which had too much play with .060" cloth but that turned out in the end to be a tad too loose too. Rather than rebush with .070" cloth which has diminished longevity I decided to use .040" cloth and .030" veneer. Glued the cloth to the veneer(w/ PVC-E) and installed the inserts (w/ Bolduc glue) with cauls (No hot glue ready at the moment) The trial bushing is nice and firm now.
