cleaning action stack

Well, I do use shims to get it closer to a real key-bed, and have learned
to compensate accordingly so only fine-adjustments need to be done in the
actual piano. I would just rather have a flatter bench. It's massively
carved up, Maybe refinishing would allow me to level it out more....time
constraints keep me using shims, tho. :>)

Why would it make regulation impossible? Get some glide studs and
install them across the leading edge of the bench. (like those
adjustable Baldwin front rail ones) If your alley chunk really is
crowned (convex) you then would be able to compensate for and duplicate
any keybed.
