Speaking of odd pianos.. was odd baldwin piano

I'll bet you that that part is laminated to give it more stifness. Fazioli do laminate the treble part of their souncboard to give it more crown and stifness. I was surprised to see the caul they use to give it more crown in that section. They had about 3/4" crown for a foot of rib. That is done before the ribbing by the way.
