Hi,Ron! I remember late Roger Weisensteiner telling the class about a Steinway D rebuilt by Kimball Factory for a local church....They called it 'STEINBALL" piano. -----Original Message----- From: pianotech-bounces at ptg.org [mailto:pianotech-bounces at ptg.org] On Behalf Of Ron Berry Sent: Thursday, January 31, 2008 8:02 PM To: Brian Doepke; Pianotech List Subject: Re: Wurlitzer with a Yamaha soundboard???? I did see a Steinway M once that had a soundboard with the grain going parallel to the key slip. This seemed rather strange and I figured it must be a laminated soundboard. It turns out the owner of the piano knew someone at Kimball and had the piano rebuilt and literally had a Kimball soundboard installed in the Steinway. A Wurli with a Yamaha soundboard sounds more like salesmanspeak. ron On 31 Jan 2008 at 21:08, Brian Doepke wrote: > > Ok, this is a new one for me... > > A lady calls and tells me about her Wurlitzer b-grand piano that had been redone with a Yamaha > soundboard, at least that is what she was told. > > It has to be replaced because a previous owner had overwatered a plant sitting on it, according to > her. > > This information was given to her by the folks who sold it to her.......brother.... what a long list of > "they said, they told me...ect. > > Can a Wurli have a Yamaha soundboard???? > > Brian P.
