Also check the key-frame. With the action in the piano, take a long screwdriver and push the back rail of the key-frame down and see if the noise is eliminated. If so, you will need to fit the key-frame to the bed. Although the punching seems to be ruled out as the culprit I had an action recently that I was sure needed the punchings replaced. Turned out that the repetition lever springs were way too strong and the hammer was jerking up like crazy. When I adjusted the spring on a sample note for a more reasonable rise the jack "leg " (Correct Nomenclature?) of the spring returned the jack with less force and the thumpy -tapping impact of the regulating punching impacting the spoon was gone. How are the rep springs on this thing? Just a thought. Best wishes, Tom Driscoll RPTired Subject: Re: [pianotech] Young Chang action noise I had a similar experience with a fairly new Young Chang grand. I replaced the jack regulating button felts and the knocking went away. Fortunately, Young Chang picked up the bill under warranty. ----- Original Message ----- From: Steve Blasyak Subject: [pianotech] Young Chang action noise Greetings to all, I had an action problem today I am seeking advice from the group.
