I found 2 sets of bored hammers, one for a grand, the other for an upright, in the shop I work at. My predecessor knows not from whence they came. Considering almost all the pianos here are Yamahas, I assume they were ordered for one of them years ago. The grand hammers have gray reinforcing color, and burgundy underfelt surrounded by a thin layer of white. The shoulders are NOT stapled. The moldings are a light color. There are 28 bass hammers (I am assuming at least one is extra?) 65 mm molding length of largest hammer, almost 82 mm from end to end. 68 mm molding on smallest hammer and 72 total length.I did not bring my camera today but can get pictures next week if requested. The uprights have a mustard reinforcing color and a slightly darker molding, as well as burgundy underfelt. The shoulders ARE stapled. I could temporarily place a shank in each end-of-section hammers and measure the bore angle. Perhaps then I could ask Ray Negron if those angles fit a standard piano's bore? Alternatively, I could plug the holes and rebore to fit a specific piano. I hate to see these go to waste. Any thoughts? -Noah -------------- next part -------------- An HTML attachment was scrubbed... URL: <http://ptg.org/pipermail/pianotech_ptg.org/attachments/20090410/48e8ba81/attachment.html>
