Arlie

I've tried the following a few times with good results. First vacuum up as much of the loose dirt as possible. Then spray Scrubbing Bubbles on the pin area, and use a stiff paint brush to clean in between the pins and strings. Then use cheese cloth to soak up the?left over moisture,?dirt and residue. The fibers of the cheese cloth?are loose enough to allow it to go in between the pins.?After it dries, vacuum some more.?

I learned this from someone else, but don't remember who.

Subject: [pianotech] Cleaning solution

I have a grand piano that I need to clean. The plate and pin block are not dusty, they are dirty! Can it be cleaned without removing strings? What can I use to clean it that will not damage the strings, the pin block, etc.??
?
Any help will be appreciated.?
