Euphonious, I had a similar problem recently and took the broken bracket pieces to a local welding shop where they made a new one to match, cut out of very strong steel. Cost was about $75. I think they had some kind of CAD/CAM pattern maker/plasma cutter thing. I don't know much about welding besides how to spell it.
