I understand that risk. I originally put the DC rods on the floor underneath cross pieces of wood so that the panel was separated from the rods by about 6 inches or so. Even though I had a fan running to circulate the air the concentration of heat at the bottom of the panel opened up a nice crack on that side. Oops. Probably better, realistically, because the all the air coming up under the panels is the same temperature. With the baseboard heater, it would have been hotter the farther away from the return inlet it got unless I made a distribution tunnel for spreading it along the heater. This was relatively simple, and the whole thing resides behind a big cabinet in the shop. It's next to the outside door, to reduce the likelihood of having stuph stacked in the way when I need to use it. That mostly works... Ron N
