I've been in the business for many years and this was the first time I heard of it. I've seen backrail cloth glued on both sides with the lump in the middle, but How do we change the oil? :-) Just wondering. I establish the thickness with two pieces of felt, the main piece on which the keys rest and an underfelt of varying thickness just as in the original. It¹s the combined thickness that matters I don¹t necessarily try and duplicate the original thickness of one or the other. The liner felt is also glued only along the front edge. Can¹t speak for Ed.
