What's even more amazing than being able to tune the Winters, is that the serial numbers are consecutive. Are these pianos in a church, which bought them at the same store?

Subject: [pianotech] How to tune a Winter spinet

The three top things to remember when tuning a Winter spinet:
1. Unisons
2. Speed
3. Speed

Yesterday I tuned my two Winter spinet "twins." Serial numbers 326128 and 326129.

If there's anything worse than tuning one Winter spinet, it's tuning two of them back-to-back. The only positive thing about this duo is that the second tuning is markedly faster than the first.

Oh, and the fourth thing I forgot to mention about Winter spinets is that they can't really be tuned. <G>

Sincerely,

Your friendly frazzled piano technician, who is eagerly anticipating taking a few days off during the next two weeks.
