Factory specs don't mean much since they were rarely adhered to.  The Manual
for Steinway suggests DW specs starting at 50g in the bass and graduating
down to 46g in the treble (something like that).  There is no right or wrong
within reason, only personal preference.  Balance weight systems are better
as they account for friction differences.  What is a Steinway "V" btw.
