The thing is, Yamaha is busy building their own network of technicians. They just launched their European Yamaha Piano Technicians Guild. I believe that is the correct name they have for it. Don't be surprised if before long you see such an organization pop up in the US. They've competed with other piano tech associations in Japan for years now. Seems they are quite interested in getting as much control over servicing their instruments as they can. Any tech wanting easy access to all service necessities will have to work for some Yamaha dealer... exclusively.... at their pay rates. At least thats how it looks like the new system in Europe is developing at this point. And that pretty much sums up how they operate in Japan. Hijab anyone ? Cheers RicB
