[pianotech] What do you call this kind of action?

Yes, I know it was!

My interest was sparked, however, by Barrie Heaton's comment that it is
wrong to do so. I know it is confusing about spring and loop,
especially when one still comes across plenty of old (and crummy!)
upright spring and loop actions.

The most correct title seems to be "The D-Type Spring and Loop Action",
according to the sources I mentioned before. But that's a bit of a
mouthful, and I can see that it's simpler to simply say Simplex, however
morally evil it may be to do so.

Incidentaally folks, If anyone needed it, I could copy the 8-page
chapter on regulating these, from the book I mentioned by Booth. It's
quite good, and I think it's out of print, and copying 8 pages would
probably count as "Fair use" or "fair dealing" under US and UK copyright
law.

Best regards,

David Boyce.
