Hi Joe,

I know they aren't considered tools but q-tips work a lot better than a
hammer shank, you have to replace them more frequently but they don't drip
as much.
On my last few restrings I just used a plain old oil based non-tinted
varnish & swabbed the holes(no more than 2 at a time)using the afore
mentioned q-tips. Like you I pre-soaked the bushings in the PDF as well,
more for color than any other reason.
