David, this was a new install. It was for a dealer, where the sale "hinged" on the installation of the decelerator. When the dealer heard the price of the job, there was no question, it wasn't going to happen. I was curious why they wouldn't supply one to replace a malfunctioning one, so I spoke with John Chang also. It sounds like they have never had a report of a bad one, and don't see any benefit to facilitating the opportunity to otherwise screw-up one of their pianos, which sounds like what Don Mannino at Kawai was proposing as well. If you are doing a new install, Jurgen's sounds like your best bet. Any ideas on how I can get a slow drop fallboard hinge for a Young Chang G-150 would be greatly appreciated. Is this something you can only get directly from them? If so, does anyone have the number for their parts dept?
