David, this was a new install. It was for a dealer, where the sale "hinged" on the installation of the decelerator. When the dealer heard the price of the job, there was no question, it wasn't going to happen.

Just to clarify - are you trying to retrofit one of these into a piano that never had one, or replace a broken one? I was curious why they wouldn't supply one to replace a malfunctioning one, so I spoke with John Chang also. It sounds like they have never had a report of a bad one, and don't see any benefit to facilitating the opportunity to otherwise screw-up one of their pianos, which sounds like what Don Mannino at Kawai was proposing as well. If you are doing a new install, Jurgen's sounds like your best bet.

I called YC and the person I spoke to (I think it was John Chang) said they don't have them in stock, nor do they sell them. Any ideas on how I can get a slow drop fallboard hinge for a Young Chang G-150 would be greatly appreciated.

I need a slow drop fallboard hinge for a Young Chang. Is this something you can only get directly from them?
If so, does anyone have the number for their parts dept?
Thanks,
