Jim, I made mine to fit a 6' piano, then I would put a 2X4 across the truck struts to accommodate longer or shorter pianos. I never had a 9" on it, but it worked for a Steinway B. Al, if I understand you correctly, you are saying that you set it up as one-size-fits-all. I don't get that. Case lengths vary considerably from 5' to 9' creating unique triangles. The keyboard end might be standardized, but the length has to vary, and that, for me has meant disassembly and reconstruction. My experience has been that one size fits one rather than "all", and there is the rub for me.
