[pianotech] Technician's manual

Hi, Letty:
This book is considered a "Bible" for a lot of technicians. It is part of the curriculum in a popular correspondence course. It is available from Schaff Piano Supply and other supply houses, and perhaps on Amazon or other online booksellers. I think there is a second edition out. Some of the information is a little dated, and the tuning instructions are hard to follow. There are better tuning instructions available from the Piano Technicians Guild. If you aren't a member, I would recommend joining. You'll learn a lot. As far as other books, I'll leave that to others, as there are many. The Reblitz book is probably the most popular of all.
    Best,

Subject: [pianotech] Technician's manual

I am an apprenticing piano technician, and recently my mentor showed me a manual he has used for many years: Piano Servicing, Tuning, and Rebuilding by Arthur A. Reblitz © 1976. I would love to have an overall technician “manual” such as this, that addresses all manner of common piano repairs, etc. Have any of you used this book, or do you have other books you would recommend that have been helpful to you? Thank you!
