[pianotech] Too much reverb

Laura,
Check the damper lift. I've run into several (newish) Steinway
uprights that had many spoons engaging the damper levers immediately
(Not at the third to half key dip spec), causing plenty of leakage and
a very heavy touch. Also check the damper head orientation to the
strings. Not much quality control at the factory and dealership for
some of these super pricey verticals (plus you've had 23 years of
"settling in").
