I have more than a few magnets in the shop too, like knife
holder strips and such. Seems like every screwdriver, awl,
knife, or drill bit I pick up is festooned with what looks
like a metal shavings crew cut. Even things that haven't been
near magnets to my knowledge are magnetized and fuzzy with
fine filings. When I'd like to use an edged tool that isn't
covered with edge eating dust, I degauss it with a magnetic
tape bulk eraser and start over.
