I am working on a 1865 Henri Herz upright piano.with over dampers and no cast iron plate. Same is wood. My question for the group is: I know I can't pull the pitch up to A440 so what is a safe pitch for this piano? The piano is in remarkable shape for being so old and has 85 keys rather than the 88.
