[pianotech] Back check felt thickness

Greetings all,

I'm recovering backchecks on an 1894 Steinway A and I'm struggling  
with which thickness of felt to use under the leather.  The old felt  
was pretty moth- eaten and not a good indicator of what to replicate-

Any suggestions on how to determine the right felt for these backchecks?
