[pianotech] Electroless Nickel Plating?

Hi all,

I just came upon a reference to electroless nickel plating on a luthier site, and a kit that allows you to do your own plating:

Does anyone have any experience with this process or this kit?  Has anyone done nickel plating of piano hardware this way (or some other reasonably accessible way)?
