Jeff Sound like a sympathetic vibration from another source, other than the soundboard. There are lots of possibilities, but start with looking all over the board for a foreign object. It could even be under the plate, which makes it difficult to see. Is the buzz still there with the lid completely closed? Because another source might be the short stick on the prop. It's a Stenway M. ctave 6 and 7 (mainly) lay a fourth or a fifth say from E6. trange (to me) "buzzing' or humming sound at a lower harmonic (i.e. at pproximately E5 when playing E6-B6). iano is in tune. (does it with single strings) nly does it it with intervals (not single notes). asts for around a second or two ... oes it with most of the intervals played in this range (not in high reble or below about C6). t muddies the sound of chords and intervals there. It seems like its the board but I can't seem to stop it by pressing on ibs - although I haven't done extensive searching in this regard. You all know what this is? Please don't tell be its my ears or my imagination ... pretty sure I could catch it with a mic if I could post the sound clip.
