When should one replace or recommend replacing bass strings and steel wire strings apart from extreme rust and evidence of breakage? Are 90 - 110 year old bass strings that are not rusty and have no evidence of breaking a risk to keep or should one replace them due to their age and becoming brittle/stretch hardened?
