Greg,
It can be moved with great difficulty without the skid board. Also, without the skidboard the piano would have to be left on the dolly.

I have a friend who wants to move his Steinway L across the house for storage while rebuilding (his house). Is a piano board necessary or would a sufficiently padded dolly suffice. All other precautions would , or course, be taken. Thank you for any help.
