"Those of you who use fabric softener on hard hammers what do use, what do
you mix it with and in what proportion. I've got a customer with an old
upright that someone put some real rocks on and there's no way to needle
them down. Tried the alcohol and water route with limited success, going to
plan B before I set the explosives."

David,
I'd suggest a Hammer Iron and a wet handkerchief before the explosives. <G> I've used the fabric softener...once. did not like the results. I have had good success with the steaming process. I like it better than the alcohol/water, which I had mixed results with. With the steam/hammer iron technique, there is a reasonable amount of control that can be reversed easier. As you know voicing is not permanent.<G> Sooooo.. If, by chance, the "..real rocks", happen to be Imedegawas, there is little hope/help there. DAMHIK. <G>

Joe
