[pianotech] Fw: Replacing action bracket bolt

Barb,

I was talking with my old friend Isaac Sadigursky today. He read my post 
below and shared with me some Russian ingenuity to make the going even 
easier.

First was to use an acorn nut in place of the standard hexnut. Number 
two is to use VJ lube (or Protek MPL) to coat the threads of the bolt 
(careful of the bass strings). And thirdly, a pipe nipple about two or 
three feet long, 1/2" inside diameter in case the some bending is 
necessary to meet up with the action bracket.

Barb,

If there are flats in the smooth part of the shaft, then the right size 
metric wrench to install it. Otherwise you will need to get a nut 
(metric, of course) to drive the new bolt home. If the threads don't go 
all the way to the shoulder then you'll need to add some washers to keep 
the nut on the threaded part.
