Quite so. I've noticed the visible indicator has a very strong pull.
Maybe I am simply too weak minded, but I've caught myself a few times
drifting into a state of mind where I'm believing the device more than
I believe my ears. I'm now working on weaning myself off my ETD for
fine tuning (still pitch raising with it, I'm still addicted to
no-mute pitch raising with Tunelab's spectrum display). If you are an
ETD-only tuner, and the IH reading is off, or the scale is funky, or
you don't have a good curve for *whatever* reason, how will you know?
