Just off the top of my head, if her mother-in-law played it I wouldn't think
it would have a 7 digit serial number. Back that far Chickering was part of
Aeolean.

Subject: [pianotech] serial number

Hi Everyone,
I evaluated a Chickering console today for a guy who wanted to take it, it
was offered for free. The serial # 1314731. The atlas said it was
manufactured in 1973. The woman who owned the piano said that her mother in
law played it when she was young. this doesn't add up. Did I write the
number down wrong or is there a glitch? thanks
Marshall
