I've tuned a lot of P22's having worked with a yamaha dealer. As someone mentioned, yamaha would trim the last damper so the outside string would ring. I also noticed, and often got complaints about the level of sustain on the 3 or 4 notes after the dampers ended. Seems to be a P22 thing.
