There are some skewers that are slightly smaller than the average, american balance rail pin. These come in very handy for pushing old bushings out that fall in while your trying to remove them!

This afternoon, I replaced the coupler buttons on the set, and a half dozen broken sticks. The diameter is very close, after some sorting and culling, so I think it'll work. I'd never seen coupler buttons like this, being just punched leather glued to the shank with burnt shellac. Drilling out appropriate diameter leather nuts replaced them fairly easily. They were originally glued to heavily graphited sticks, so they weren't too hard to break off.
