A while back, I bought a package of large diameter bamboo barbeque skewers, thinking they looked to be about the right size for pump organ pallet sticks, or at least a heck of a lot closer than the 3/16" dowels sold for that purpose. This afternoon, I replaced the coupler buttons on the set, and a half dozen broken sticks. The diameter is very close, after some sorting and culling, so I think it'll work. I'd never seen coupler buttons like this, being just punched leather glued to the shank with burnt shellac. Drilling out appropriate diameter leather nuts replaced them fairly easily. They were originally glued to heavily graphited sticks, so they weren't too hard to break off. So to whom it may annoy, a good skewering might be handy to some of you. As you were, Ron N
