Right, I actually have no interest in infinite anything, especially discussion, but this is not that huge. I know we'll never get to perfection, but I think we'll be just a little closer if we tune our forks at room temp, and then tune our pianos with the fork at plate temp, knowing that that's NOT A440. I'm open to someone weighing in from a different perspective that might cause me to rethink, but if that doesn't happen, this might be a useful concept in somebody's thinking process. That's all I really had in mind. Meanwhile, I'm sure you heard about the guy who tied a bunch of helium balloons to his lawnchair, and was really surprised how high he got? ~Mark On 2/21/13 5:11 PM, Ron Nossaman wrote: > On 2/21/2013 6:00 PM, Mark Schecter wrote: >> I think this gets you a little closer than ignoring it, do you agree? >> No, it's not perfect, nor do I know how to calibrate it against all >> the unknowable variables, but do you see anything wrong with the >> thinking, in principle? > > Of course not, which is why I didn't suggest ignoring it.
