Some notes on the list I was referring to in my "real costs" post - to the best of my knowledge: - it has been in place uninterrupted since about the late '90s - it has always been host out of someone's home - I believe there are more than 1000 subscribers globally - it has always been privately owned - current administrators began as subscribers - it is "owned" by the current admins who prefer to pay for it themselves - it's technical value to it's subscribers is valued not unlike pianotech - among the subscribers, the cross-section of personalities, experts, noobs, lugans and trolls is about the same Although I didn't divulge the names of the list or the admins, I would be happy to introduce them directly with those interested in picking their brains Perhaps let me know off-list if you think that would be helpful Phil
