This is a multi-part message in MIME format. ---------------------- multipart/alternative attachment Hi Ric, =20 Eric Schandall did a little informal "blind" testing and his take on it was (of course) they tended to choose NY until they were shown which was the NY and which was the Hamburg, then the Hamburg seemed somehow "better" and they frequently changed their mind. He was curious and slightly amused at the fickle nature of people. His conclusion was that the "mental" part of selection is not to be overrated, and that the Hamburg has some "exotic" appeal. Who knows? =20 The past article in the NY Times on this very topic is quite good, but I can't remember what issue. Two months ago?? =20 Jim Busby =20 -----Original Message----- From: caut-bounces@ptg.org [mailto:caut-bounces@ptg.org] On Behalf Of Richard Brekne Sent: Saturday, November 15, 2003 5:58 AM To: College and University Technicians Subject: Re: RE : [Experts] Steinway New York vs Hamburg =20 =20 Serge Harel wrote:=20 Hi=20 For me the best concert piano is a recent NY S&S but with a complete=20 Hamburg action, heavy weight Hamburg hammer head and a Stanwood PTD.=20 This set-up gives the better of two worlds and makes glorious sound...=20 Serge Harel=20 <https://www.moypiano.com/resources/#archives> =20 That would be interesting to hear and play actually.
