There was never any intention to make RPTs keep secret their status as Certified Tuning Examiners. As one of the authors of the bylaw, I have said that I think it is acceptable to state the fact of being a CTE on a resume/curriculum vitae, for example. The use of the initials CTE after one's name is, I believe, prohibited. Kent Swafford Thank you Kent. To go one step further, we all know that officers are not allowed to advertise their office. I might be wrong on this, but when a Board member is elected, are they not encouraged to send a news release to a local newspaper announcing the election? This would considered news, not advertisement. By the same token, the web site only makes mention I am a CTE in the PTG. If people reading this do not know the meaning of the acronym, that is not my concern. Although I know CTE's are not allowed to advertise that status, if the subject comes up, I think they should be allowed to tell a customer they are one.
