[CAUT] Pinblock damage caused by CA glue?

Ed,
All the rebuilders I have discussed this with have no problem with CA
residues (except when the applicator is sloppy and gets it on the
plate, kind of a nuisance to get through to strip the plate). If you
aren't going to replace the pin-block, you are going to drill out
over sized, plug and re-drill. That eliminates the treated
material. You only CA treat when the pins won't stay put. That
means the block is basically shot as it is anyway. It is a temporary
fix that has lasted years for me and retrieved pianos that are not
worth a full rebuild.

Why?

It frequently takes more than one ugly fact to slay a beautiful theory.
