Hi Susan,

I'm a Beaver Alum, so I understand and miss the beautiful yet minimal 
humidity changes! Is Music still in BentonHall?

Write him a letter. Put down the value of the 110 pianos, and inform 
him that since you have recommended that the steam by turned on and 
he refused, the cost of fixing any damage to the pianos will be his 
responsibility.

As nicely as you can muster. Send it registered mail, special 
delivery. And of course keep a copy, and just possibly send copies 
(listed cc: at the bottom of the letter) to other interested parties.
