Dennis,

The earliest Steinway I've worked on was 1875.  To achieve a 5.5 ratio I had
to move the capstan line 0.50".  This was with new dimension Hamburg shanks.
Key Weight ratio was 0.63 on average.  The original capstans were "right"
for feather light hammers.  The new capstan line is "right" for full
projection weight hammers.
