Refinishing sharps

I like the idea tray stripping sharps. Rather than applying any finish I
like to polish the ebony on a buffing wheel. Red tripoli and the same wheel
I use for brass seems to be a good combination. The sharps are very smooth
and feel great. However, this seems to be worth the trouble only if the
ebony is very high quality and very black. Otherwise, it makes more sense to
replace them.
