Lid Prop on Performance Pianos

Dear Joel:

I have felt the same as you.  I get nervous about the lid prop being
in the wrong position.  However,  I have never known of an incident
where the lid came crashing down.  I would just hate to think of the
various kinds of damage that could occur.
